Electro Grunge Pioneer Bridges Punk Rock Roots with Bass Music Innovation

Rachel, known as Cache Crash, is a Los Angeles-based producer and DJ pioneering "Electro Grunge" - a genre-defying fusion that bridges 90s counterculture with modern bass music. Her journey from Cheyenne, Wyoming punk bands to the forefront of electronic music innovation showcases resilience, authenticity, and artistic evolution.

Cache Crash's musical foundation began in 2008, playing guitar and singing in punk bands across Wyoming. After deciding to create electronic music after being inspired by Skrillex's "Bangarang" in 2010 - having followed his evolution from From First to Last through his Myspace days and Sonny Moore solo project - she merged her passions, teaching herself production and DJing.

From 2015-2019, she built a grassroots following through DIY shows and micro-tours across Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado, both Dakotas, and Minnesota. Her innovative approach of opening for metal and punk bands with dubstep, electro house, glitch hop, and moombahton sets created a unique sound that resonated beyond genre boundaries. By 2016, she held the #1 spot in Bandcamp's Wyoming tag for three consecutive years, bringing electronic music to audiences hungry for alternatives to traditional sounds.

This genre-blending experimentation culminated in her debut album "Screen Rituals," released October 3, 2025, via her imprint Electro Grunge Records. The album tackles digital anxiety, artistic struggle, and societal critique through tracks like "Performance Anxiety" and "Unholy Alliances," with every element - guitar, bass, vocals, and production - performed entirely by Cache Crash, embodying DIY punk ethos.

"Screen Rituals" has already surpassed the total streaming numbers of her entire 11-year catalog under previous moniker DJ Rachel G in less than one year. SoundCloud's editorial team recognized this momentum, placing "Imperfection" and "Slave to the Beat" in weekly electronic release hype playlists, generating significant industry buzz.

In 2025, Cache Crash's dedication to her craft led her to Los Angeles, where she was accepted to Icon Collective's production program. When the school announced its closure just hours after her arrival, she demonstrated the same resilience that has defined her career. Transferred to Musicians Institute of Hollywood, she's now pursuing her degree in Music Business while pushing creative boundaries.

As an openly transgender artist since 2012, Cache Crash champions representation and inclusivity in electronic music. Her journey from Wyoming punk venues to Los Angeles production studios reflects not just geographical movement, but an artist's commitment to authentic self-expression and innovation.

Experience Cache Crash's electrifying live performances that transcend typical DJ sets through seamless genre transitions and raw intensity that connects directly with audiences.
